Furry Friends Valentine’s Day Celebration

February 3, 2017Holidays, PetsNo CommentsCathy Vu

Valentine’s Day is almost here and love is in the air! There are very few creatures who love us as much as our own furry friends. Let’s celebrate this occasion with cute Valentine’s Day DIY’s that show our furry friends you love them too! These projects are not just adorable, they’re also super easy to do. Who needs a two-legged Valentine’s Day date when you already have a four-legged one?

Two-Ingredient Dog Treats

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of organic whole wheat flour
  • 2 (4oz) jars of your pup’s favorite pureed baby food (Can be any safe combination of veggies, fruit, and protein)

What you’ll need to do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Mix ingredients together to create a dough
  3. On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into cute hearts or other adorable shapes
  4. Line cookie pan with parchment paper and place the treats onto the paper
  5. Bake the treats for 20-25 minutes
  6. Once they finish baking, allow the treats to cool completely

And that’s it! That’s all it takes to make amazing dog treats that your pup is sure to love. If you have any extras, pack them up into treat bags and give them as Valentine’s for other Pup Parents to enjoy!

Personalized Paw-Prints

What you’ll need:

  • White cardstock, any size
  • Pink and red tempera paint
  • Picture frame the same size as the cardstock
  • Disposable plate
  • Baby wipes or a wet paper towel

What you’ll do:

  1. Squeeze generous amounts of both paint colors onto the plate
  2. Dip the bottom of your furry friend’s paw into the paint so that only the paw pads are covered with paint
  3. Carefully transfer the paint onto the cardstock paper by pressing your furry friend’s paw onto the cardstock
  4. Use the baby wipe or wet paper towel to clean your furry friend’s paw
  5. Repeat steps 1-3 as many times as you’d like with different colors of paint
  6. Allow the paint to dry completely
  7. Write your furry friend’s name and date on the card stock, frame it, and treasure it forever

Simple projects are great because they give you the flexibility to be creative. You can put creative twists on this project by marbling the paint colors or using other colors you like. You can also try this project with your favorite patterned or colored cardstock as well!
