Three Ways To Keep Your House Safe From Intruders

May 19, 2016Safety, Smart HomeNo CommentsEva Nikandrova

Nobody is protected from burglary. In fact, burglaries happen every 13 seconds in the US. Learn three easy ways to keep your house safe from intruders.

How To Keep Your House Safe?

They say, when you leave for work, so do the burglars. Take care of your house by taking few simple steps to protect it. We recommend the following three ideas that are easy to implement:

Get a video monitoring system

Getting a video monitoring system is the easiest thing you can do. You don’t have to get a professional security system to protect your home. For instance, Helmet home video monitor can function as a video monitoring system. You can add several monitors for easy home monitoring. Helmet monitor allows you to move the monitor 360° and tilt it 70°. It also has sound and motion sensors that when triggered, will send alerts straight to your mobile device. You can add unlimited users to make sure all your family has access to the camera.

Get a dog

Dogs are naturally protective of their environment, and will start barking when someone gets close to your house. In fact, for many burglars, a loud, barking dog – no matter its size – is the biggest deterrent since it easily catches the attention of neighbors.

Do not flash your expensive belongings

Do not make it easy for burglars to understand what you might have in the house. In other words, do not keep your expensive things in plain sight. Park your car in the garage, keep the blinds closed, and do not leave oversized packaging (for instance from your TV) outside of the garbage bins.

While none of these tricks can guarantee a 100% protection, they may decrease the chances of break-in.
